Inshore and offshore species include: Giant Yellowfin Tuna, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado (Mahi-mahi), Roosterfish, Cero Mackerel, Snook, Cubera Snapper, Mullet Snapper, Corbina, Grouper, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Blue-Fin Trevally, and more.
Panama means "the place of abundant fish” Fishing is good year round with a lot of that due to the many sea mounds and banks that bring the bottom up from a Thousand Meters to less than Forty Meters. These areas hold a lot of baitfish. The top season for billfish is December - April, the Giant Yellowfin Tuna (200 lbs plus), start arriving in March.
